St Andrews University

St Andrews is an ancient seat of learning, where you will find Scotland's first University, (founded in 1413) set amongst elegant, ivy clad buildings, more recent modern, state of the art structures and delightful quadrangles and gardens. There is no main campus. Instead, the university colleges and departments are an integral part of the town which goes some way towards fostering warmer town and gown relations.

St Andrews is relatively small, with a population of almost 17,000. The University population (staff and students) swells this number to around 24,000.
