A warm welcome to the Kingdom of Fife

St Andrews, has long been renowned the world over as the 'Home of Golf' with six centuries of golfing history but it is only recently that the Kingdom of Fife has become  globally recognised as  a wonderful family holiday destination and an excellent base for touring central and eastern Scotland.
From the rich agricultural lands of the valley of the river Eden across to the quaint fishing villages of the East Neuk and up to the historic town of St Andrews and beyond - to the coastal villages of Tayport and Newport-on-Tay, once home to the wealthy jute barons, there is a diversity of attractions for young and old. With three-quarters of Fife surrounded by the sea, it is to be expected that the area also has some of the finest beaches.

A picturesque Royal Burgh, St Andrews at the centre of the golf world,  has a number of fine courses, including the famed Old Course.  It is also an ancient seat of learning, where you will find Scotland's first University, (founded in 1411) set amongst elegant, ivy clad buildings and delightful quadrangles and gardens. St Andrews is relatively small, despite having city status, with a population of 16,000. The University population (Staff and students) numbers around 6,000.
A wealth of further information and links to a number of visitor attractions including castles/period homes open to the public, sporting venues, social activities etc. can be found on our
